Fly from Quito to Baltra Island in the Galapagos from where you’ll be transferred to board the Isabela II and start your Galapagos Odyssey. We’ll set sail from Santa Cruz Island, a true wildlife oasis and geological centre of the Galapagos, also home to the world renowned Charles Darwin Research Station.

You’ll trek the scenic trails of Santa Fe Island, before heading to South Plaza Island, featuring spectacular vegetation and a vast array of bird life including the red-billed tropic birds and frigate birds. You may also have the chance to snorkel with sea lions and sea turtles!

You'll experience the picturesque North Seymour Island is home to one of the archipelago’s largest sea lion colonies as well as a thriving population of land iguanas; twitchers will delight in more bird watching and the white-sand beaches of Las Bachas are a great place to relax and swim on Santa Cruz Island.

ITINERARY
Day 1

Fly from Quito to Baltra Island in the Galapagos from where you’ll be transferred to board the Isabela II and start your Galapagos Odyssey. We’ll set sail from Santa Cruz Island, a true wildlife oasis and geological centre of the Galapagos, also home to the world- renowned Charles Darwin Research Station.

Day 2

Today you’ll trek the scenic trails of Santa Fe Island, before heading to South Plaza Island, featuring spectacular vegetation and a vast array of bird life including the red-billed tropic birds and frigate birds. You may also have the chance to snorkel with sea lions and sea turtles!

Day 3

Picturesque North Seymour Island is home to one of the archipelago’s largest sea lion colonies as well as a thriving population of land iguanas; twitchers will delight in more bird watching and the white-sand beaches of Las Bachas are a great place to relax and swim on Santa Cruz Island.

Day 4

Bartolomé Island features one of the most photographed landmarks in the Galapagos: Pinnacle Rock, a towering geological feature made of hot lava. We’ll trek up the island’s volcano for breathtaking vistas, and if time allows, you’ll snorkel with Galapagos penguins and colourful fish.

Day 5

Back on SantaCruz, we’ll spend sometime exploring the Galapagos’ largest town, filled with excellent cafes, restaurants, art galleries and shops. We’ll venture out to the highlands and learn about the several Galapagos Giant Tortoise breeding programs.

Day 6

On Floreana Island we’ll visit Post Office Bay, site of the first post office, a wooden barrel left by whalers in 1832 in the hopes that mail left there would be found by subsequent seafarers heading in the same direction as the letters! We’ll head to one of Isla From Quito the green-sand beaches and observe more birdlife including the endemic Floreana mockingbird.

Day 8

Charles Darwin first made land fall in 1835 on San Cristobal. Today the island boasts a permanent freshwater lake and a giant tortoise breeding centre. At Punta Pitt, you’ll witness the three types of boobies nesting together (red and blue-footed and Nazca) as well as sea lions and brown pelicans.

Day 7

Today we’ll spend time on Española Island, home to a four million year volcano and powerful lava fields. The island is home to the endemic Española mockingbird but also an impressive colony of wave albatross and nearly 2,000 giant tortoises.

Day 9

This morning, after breakfast, you’ll farewell our Isabela II and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Quito.
